Katerina Smolenkova, President of KS Permitting, will present a 45 minute training covering the COA’s permitting process followed by a 15 minute Q&A session.  Items to cover during presentation inlcude:
  • What is a Permit and What are the Different Types of Permits and a brief description for each type:
  • Building Permits: New Construction, Tenant Finish Out (first generation vs not), Remodel
  • Demolition Permits (Structural vs Non-Structural, Total vs Partial)
  • Right-of-way Permits (Temporary use of the Right-of Way, Traffic control)
  • Site Development Permits to include Site Plan revisions, Corrections and Exemptions
  • License agreements vs Encroachment Agreements
  • What is Zoning vs Occupancy vs Use?
  • When is the Permit Required?
  • When are you required to hire a licensed Engineer or and Architect vs using a Drafting company?

Katerina Smolenkova, President of KS Permitting has been in business for over 8 years and specializes in permit expediting and code consulting. They work with Architects, General Contractors, Developers, Property Managers and Engineers to expedite the process of obtaining various permits through the City of Austin, the Greater Austin area, and Travis County. They work on a number of projects that include offices, medical offices, hospitals, retail, multi family and more. Knowledge of the Cities’ permitting process, relationships, and code allows them to expedite the process.
